Conservatives vs. Liberals on abortion…It’s, like, life ‘n’ death (UPDATED)

 

UPDATE:  Michelle Malkin has an update on the differences in “choice” at her site this afternoon with a graphic that pretty much sums up the contrast between the Republicans’ vs. the Democrats’ ticket.  It would seem to be a logical follow-up to her post the other day on the left’s meme on Palin’s daughter, Bristol, being 5 months pregnant and not thinking as they do that her baby will be a punishment.

Gov. Sarah Palin and her family have provided folks with an opportunity to compare and contrast conservatives and liberals.

It turns out that Bristol Palin, the governor’s 17 year old daughter, is with child.  As much as that, alone, may be making the leftists foam at the mouth, what will likely send them over the edge is that she is…*gasp*…going to have her baby and that it will be loved by her, her husband-to-be, her parents and the rest of her family. 

So, what does Gov. Palin have to say on the matter?

“We have been blessed with five wonderful children who we love with all our heart and mean everything to us. Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. We’re proud of Bristol’s decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support.

“Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family. We ask the media to respect our daughter and Levi’s privacy as has always been the tradition of children of candidates.”

What would Barack Obama and other liberals have done, if their child was in a similar situation?  Well, he told us himself.  Remember?

“Look, I got two daughters — 9 years old and 6 years old,” he said. “I am going to teach them first about values and morals, but if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby.”

What would Alan Colmes think about such a callous act such as loving your child and supporting them through their decision to allow their baby to live?

As Michelle Malkin notes;

One ticket sees this as a blessing. The other sees it as a curse. Could the core differences between the two be any starker?
