Doubt not The Goracle!

Doubt not The Goracle, lest you be smited.

Increased snowfall. Frigid temperatures across the nation. What else could it be but that dreaded “global warming” The Goracle warned us about? Talk about comedic timing.

What? You don’t think it could be “global warming?” Neither did Bill O’Reilly, when he stated, “Why has southern New York turned into the tundra,” adding, “I have a call in to Al Gore.”  As a result, he was smited by The Goracle.

AN ANSWER FOR BILL  February 1, 2011  :  11:43AM

Last week on his show Bill O’Reilly asked, “Why has southern New York turned into the tundra?” and then said he had a call into me. I appreciate the question.

As it turns out, the scientific community has been addressing this particular question for some time now and they say that increased heavy snowfalls are completely consistent with what they have been predicting as a consequence of man-made global warming:

“In fact, scientists have been warning for at least two decades that global warming could make snowstorms more severe. Snow has two simple ingredients: cold and moisture. Warmer air collects moisture like a sponge until it hits a patch of cold air. When temperatures dip below freezing, a lot of moisture creates a lot of snow.”

“A rise in global temperature can create all sorts of havoc, ranging from hotter dry spells to colder winters, along with increasingly violent storms, flooding, forest fires and loss of endangered species.”

There you have it, folks. Reduce your carbon emissions and pass the Twinkies. The Goracle has spoken. Believe not logic. Colder temperatures are from it getting hotter, because of “global warming.” Therefore, you need only suspend common sense.

It really is hard to keep up with The Goracle and his followers. Back in 2000, we were told, “Snowfalls are now just a thing of the past,” due to global warming. Now, in 2011, huge snows and cold temperatiures are coming about, because of global warming. (H/T: Right Mind)

I’m with Doug Powers. “No matter what heppens, it’s global warming….At what point do the laws of science alter enough so that the global warming causes hotter weather instead of snow? Coincidentally around the beginning of summer. Settled science is very seasonal.”

Who are these followers of The Goracle? Don’t you ever wonder about them?

Bumper sticker of the day

Okay. In all fairness, it may be hotter in Carthage, TN, Tbe Goracle’s hometown. If he’s spewing his hot air on a regular basis there, it has to be pretty stifling.

UPDATE: Remember. It may be massive amounts of ice and extended power outages but, really, it’s “global warming.”

UPDATE: “Gore-Bull Warming” *snort* I see a bumper sticker somewhere on the horizon!

UPDATE: The Goracle in Dallas? Now, there’s a Super Bowl half-time show I could do without seeing.

UPDATE: You know, sometimes it’s just bad weather.

These big snows are beating some records and coming close to beating some others. Simple logic leads us to compare the current climate to what the climate was like back when those past records were established. When you realize that they occurred during periods of warming AND periods of cooling it should be apparent to anyone but a fool that cyclical short term climate modes of warming and cooling have very little to do with big snows and very much to do with other weather governing modes such as the Arctic Oscillation perhaps.

Compare total northern hemisphere snow cover for the decade 2001 to 2010 to two other decades, 1971-1980(earth colder than now but almost as much snow) versus 1991-2000 (earth almost the same temperature as now but far less snow). There’s no correlation Al.

Al is beginning to look like the Black Knight in “Monty Python and The Holy Grail” but instead of dismembered body parts on the ground it’s his bloody ego…

Is TN GOP selling that bumper sticker?
