Obama’s “Rural Council”

By executive order, Barack Obama has created the “White House Rural Council to Strengthen Rural Communities.”

“Strong rural communities are key to a stronger America,” said President Barack Obama.  “That’s why  I’ve established the White House Rural Council to make sure we’re working across government to strengthen rural communities and promote economic growth.”

It’s election time, ya know.  It’s time to reach out to the heartland and make them think someone cares by trying to help. As Doug Powers notes, Obama should really “stop trying to help.”

Given Obama’s track record on helping the economy, I’m thinking we’d be a lot better off forgoing “strengthening” by the likes of Washington D.C.  This is the same group that’s given us Obamacare, skyrocketing fuel prices and such.  But, nooooo. He’s insistent on doing even more for us of what he’s done for the entire country already.  Why does he feel we need such individualized attention?

Maybe that’s his campaign ploy: Destroy the heartland and try to bring rural America to its knees, before the 2012 elections.
